United Grand Lodge of England
Freemasonry under the United Grand Lodge of England is the UK’s largest, secular fraternal and charitable organization. It has over 300,000 members working in nearly 8,000 lodges throughout England and Wales
and 30,000 more members overseas.
Freemasonry never brought a tear;
never slandered man or woman;
never taught anyone to profane his Maker's Name.
The cause of human progress and human freedom is our cause.
What is Freemasonry?
FREEMASONRY consists of a body of men handed together to preserve the secrets, customs, and ceremonials handed down to them from time immemorial, and for the purposes of mutual, intellectual, social and moral improvement; they also endeavor to cultivate and exhibit brotherly love, relief and truth, not only to one another, but to the world at large. The Order is entirely voluntary.

The A-MASON Race Saturday 18 August '12
Objective:
To raise charity for the Protea Children’s Home. Protea is a children's home that serves as a temporary safe haven for kids who come from unstable or abusive households. The kids remain at Protea until they can be replaced back to either their own homes or foster care. So many needy children will not develop optimally due to physical, emotional and even spiritual neglect... their formal education starts off with a developmental shortfall. That is why it is so important to support these children and help them wherever we can.
The Events of the day:
Every lodge can pick a team, this may include family members or friends. It will cost R200 a Team
(Min of 2 and max of 4 per team); Lodges may enter as many teams as they want. The race will start at the
Freemason Hall, 17 Parliament Street Central Port Elizabeth on the 18th August 2O12, be there at 11h00 to get your first clue, don't be late now or you will be the last to go. The cut off date to enter the A-Mason Race is on the 18th July 2012.
Supporting family and friends will get together at the Protea School grounds from 11h30, where teams will join
in after completion of the race. Regular updates will be broadcast to family and friends during the course of
the race. Lunch will be provided (POTJIE) @ R30,00 per head, All meal tickets can be pre-booked when you submit your entry form. You are also encouraged to book your meal tickets for the family and friends in advance, as only a limited number of tickets will be available on the day at the lapa at The Protea Children's Home Place of Safety.
There will be a cash bar, music, games and activities for families and friends to keep them entertained as they wait in anticipation to see whether their team wins. There will also be a jumping castle for the kids.
We are sure there will be great entertainment for all.

A Mason's Wife
Our wives and families we salute;
We surely know the price you pay,
Who sit alone while we're away.
No high degrees on you conferred,
In Lodge, your name is seldom heard;
You serve our cause though out of sight,
While sitting home alone tonight.
Masonic papers list our names,
Awards are given, fit to frame;
But yours is absent...you who strive,
To keep our fortitude alive.
You're part of every helpful deed,
On your encouragement we feed;
Without your blessings, how could we,
Continue acts of charity?
And so, this poem, we dedicate,
To every Master Mason's mate;
And offer our undying love,
Rewards await in Heaven above. From active Masons, resolute,

Brethren assembled for the Installation meeting at St Francis Lodge No 3086 recently
